So you can get some idea of how your CD will sound, here are some downloads showing what can be achieved both with decent original vinyl, and with a poor original. In each case, there are before and after samples of the same piece of music, one as recorded and one as cleaned up before recording to CD. The downloads are in .mp3 format for reason of download time - they are 0.25Mb each which is plenty for people on dial-up. The actual recordings are saved as .wav files which is the purest representation of the wave form.
Its important to be aware that this is not a miracle system. Crackles and scratches can be removed very effectively, but wear in the record and defficiences in the orignal recording can never be recovered.
Anyway, here are the downloads [use right-click and 'save target as'].

First, a crackly but otherwise decent vinyl original.

1. As Recorded

2. As Cleaned Up

During recording, a digital wave file is captured and displayed as a graphic image. The crackles are quite visible on these images - here are pictures of crackly and cleaned waves so that you can see what the background noise looks  like.
This is the crackly one:

..and this is the same music cleaned up:

Now here are two samples where the original shows not only crackles, but also substantial background noise. Most crackles are removed, but the noise is here to stay.

4. As Cleaned Up
